Operational guide
Good pre-visit diagnostics start with better information.
Before reasoning about the fault, confirm the appliance, describe the symptom precisely and separate what the customer observed from what a technician verified.
Confirm exact identity
The visible brand is not always enough. Ask for a clear rating-plate photo and retain the full reference.
- Category and brand
- Full model or reference
- Serial number where relevant
- A contextual rating-plate photo
Describe the behaviour
An error code is not a diagnosis. Record when it appears, the programme, frequency and related observations.
- Symptom in the customer’s words
- Exact point of failure
- Full code and display photo
- Noise, smell, leak or interruption
Prepare without concluding
A useful output is a list of checks, questions, tools and unknowns—not manufactured certainty.
Never ask a customer to dismantle an appliance or expose live components to gather information.
